About KinOS
A shared digital home for the people you actually live with: couples, families, flatmates.
Why it exists
Households run on a hundred small coordinations: whose turn the dishes are, whether anyone bought milk, who paid for what and how it evens out. Most of that lives in a WhatsApp thread that nobody can search, or in one person’s head.
KinOS gives it a place. One Home, shared in real time: tick a chore and your partner sees it; check milk off in the aisle and it disappears from their list before they buy a second carton; log an expense and “who owes whom” works itself out.
What it does today
- Chores: whose turn, how often, and who actually did it. Including a fair split of the week, if you want to see it.
- Groceries: one live list, ticked off from the aisle, that works with no signal.
- Money: shared expenses, splits, settling up, and pools to save into together.
More is coming: meals, goals, a shared calendar, notes. You can tell the app which of those you want from the “Everything else” screen, and the order they get built in follows what people actually ask for.
How it is built
Every meaningful action is recorded as an event that is never edited or deleted, and what you see is worked out from those events. It is more work to build that way, and it means a household’s history stays honest: a correction is a new entry, not a quiet rewrite of an old one.
It also means the app works offline. Tick something in a basement supermarket and it syncs when you surface.
Who made it
One person, for his own household, and then for anyone else who finds it useful. If something is broken or missing, writing to him reaches him directly. There is no support queue.
